What kind of therapy do you do?

I believe in using an eclectic approach that best meets the needs of my individual client using evidence based interventions. These often include:

  • Emotion focused CBT

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy

  • Exposure and Response Prevention

  • Mindfulness based techniques

  • Psychodynamic therapy

How long are sessions and what are your fees?

I typically see clients on a weekly and sometimes bi-weekly basis depending on the presenting issues. I prefer to see clients in-person but understand the many constraints on your time and schedule and do offer teletherapy. My standard rate for individual therapy is $170 for a 50 minute sessions although I do maintain a few sliding scale spots on my caseload.

Do you accept insurance?

I am not a member of any health insurance plans or panels, meaning that I do not collect co-pays or bill insurance companies for reimbursement of services provided.  Although I am not an in-network provider, I will provide you with any documentation that you need to file for out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients prefer not to use insurance due to privacy concerns, the limitations of working with formal diagnoses, limits placed on number of sessions and types of treatment, and potential impact on permanent health records. If you prefer to bill your insurance company to defer the cost of counseling, I will be happy to provide referrals for insurance providers.
